SUMMER PICNIC IN AUGUST ON THE ANCLOTE RIVER
FELLOWSHIP AND A GREAT TIME |
Saturday, August 01 at Anclote Park. It was a typical Florida day for warm, humid weather. There was a nice southerly breeze coming under the pavilion. A good time was had by all. There were perhaps, 36-40 persons in attendance.
A few of the very hardy and hard-working Vessel Examiners from 11-9 were out early at the boat ramp, providing Vessel Safety Checks for the boaters. But, by 1100, they had worked up an appetite and gave it up for some good, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, prepared on the open pit.
A special thanks to Leroy and Mary Poole for poppin’ for the meat. A special thanks to Bessie Bianchi and her helpers for setting it all up. Also, to Roy, who went out early to grab a shelter for us to be in the shade.
Many of the new members, just coming in to the flotilla, were there and they appeared to have a good time and feel welcomed as being a part of our group immediately |
